Revision Techniques

Revising is personal. Different people revise differently. Here are some different techniques.

Try them all and use what works best for you! Keep an eye out for more advice :)

1. Read through your notes - This method alone isn't the best but it's a good start to remind you about topics learnt
2. Ask someone about the things you don't understand - We all have our strengths, don't be put off if you don't understand something just ask!
3. Create posters to organise information - You could refer to the main topics and complete a poster on each or break up the main topics into sub topics and create a series of posters on the different areas
4. Create revision cards with key points of the main topics, highlighting key words - key words are important because it shows you can use the 'language' of the subject
5. Use past exam questions and have a go at either answering the questions in full or bullet pointing how you would answer them highlighting key things to remember

After reading your notes you should create revision notes to get the best out of your revision. Mind maps, Spider diagrams and bullet points are a great way of making sure you understand the key points of a topic and can help you to organise your understanding. Using colour makes your notes more appealing to the eye.

 

Asking your teacher or a friend to go through your revision notes is a great way to make sure they are accurate.
